Tattoo Aftercare

First 2-3 Hours

Remove the Bandage

Your artist will apply either a clear adhesive bandage (Saniderm) or a traditional wrap. If using Saniderm, leave it on for 24-72 hours.

Day 1-3

Gentle Cleaning

Wash the tattoo 2-3 times daily with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free, antibacterial soap. Use your fingertips only — never a washcloth or sponge. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer or the aftercare product provided by your artist.

Day 4-14

The Peeling Phase

Your tattoo will begin to peel and flake. This is normal — do not pick, scratch, or pull at the peeling skin. Continue washing and moisturizing. The tattoo may appear cloudy or dull during this stage. This is temporary.

Week 2-4

Continued Healing

The surface may appear healed, but deeper layers are still recovering. Continue moisturizing daily. Avoid submerging in water (pools, baths, ocean) for at least 4 weeks. Keep the area out of direct sunlight.

Month 1-3

Full Recovery

Your tattoo is fully healed. Apply SPF 50+ sunscreen whenever the tattoo is exposed to sunlight — UV damage is the primary cause of tattoo fading. Moisturize regularly to maintain vibrancy.

Things to Avoid

Pick, scratch, or peel flaking skin
Submerge in pools, baths, hot tubs, or ocean water
Expose to direct sunlight or tanning beds
Apply alcohol-based products on the area
Wear tight, abrasive clothing over the tattoo
Exercise intensely for the first 48 hours
Let pets sleep on or near the fresh tattoo
Apply petroleum-based products (Vaseline)

Piercing Aftercare

Cleaning Routine

Clean your piercing 2 times daily with sterile saline solution (0.9% sodium chloride). Spray directly onto the piercing and let it air dry. Avoid touching with unwashed hands.

What's Normal

Mild swelling, redness, and clear/white discharge are normal during healing. Some piercings may have occasional bleeding in the first few days.

What to Avoid

Don't rotate, twist, or play with the jewelry. Avoid sleeping on the piercing. Don't use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or harsh antiseptics. Avoid submerging in water.

Jewelry Changes

Don't change jewelry until the piercing is fully healed. Visit us for your first jewelry change — we'll ensure proper technique and check healing progress.
